got 9" in 5 hours on Tuesday
:D

8 inches on honeymoon.jpg

Stay safe people....and keep your powder dry.

Picked this spot on the side of the ridge for three reasons:
a) zero chance of flooding
b) immediate area has had zero twisters, ever
c) unimpeded view to the west and north for dozens of miles
(where the weather comes from, natch)

Ain't a bad spot to set up for the coming zombie invasion, either.

Down here people just set their jon boat on the ground and tie it to the front porch. If it's floating, they use it. If it's not, they use their car............... Who needs a weatherman....... Be safe.

Thanks Mr. Henchman, but fortunately no problems where I live. The town of Leominster, which is in the central part of the state got 9" of rain in 5 hours on Tuesday evening. Check out the photos and video below ...

See submerged cars, flooded buildings, other Leominster flooding wreckage

9" in 5 hours is a good bit of rain but it happens here....or it used to happen here often. Hurricane Harvey was rpita flooding areas that never flooded before. Strange storm as it came in down the coast then reversed back out into the Gulf then came back up east of here and into Louisiana but it dumped a ton of rain all around and into Houston. IIRC, Allison dumped less rain but it dumped it with no breaks and filled up the flood control ditch that's behind me and that thing is pretty big. Harvey filled it up about 1/2 way but there were several times the rain stopped so the flash flooding around my area wasn't bad and gave the ditch some time to move the water out.

A select few people in that area/path I could give a rats *** for/about,
in that whole part of the country

RC is one of them, I actually care if he's OK & safe...

Glad it looks like a not-very-serious deal, right now...

I am quite concerned for some old friends in Halifax....looks like the thing is making a bead for them.
