yeah must have been (or looked like) a prey item

but when they saw it wasn't, you'd think an animal that smart
that are extremely intelligent, would just leave

I wonder if it was a territorial deal ?
protecting their turf ?

When I was in Alaska we'd get them around the boat
out just beyond the Cook Inlet
occasionally, but they really just come up & check US out
then leave...

we were fishing for Halibut & Cod

had one take a decent size Halibut off the line

never really any signs of agression

maybe down there they don't know or see too many
sail boats or humans
