I believe the front disc set up on the front of my 64 is from a 73 dart. In doing the brake lines last week I felt the hoses that the previous owner had bought were to short. Went to a couple supply houses around here and had no luck in coming up with anything.
I called a place called Classic Tubes in N.Y. and the fella said they could make anything I needed. He suggested that I send one of the hoses that I had so they would use the right ends, so I sent him a hose that I had. Well I get them back today and wouldn't you know that they had different ends!
The hoses that I had have a rectangular end that fits up against a shoulder on the back of the disc setup. They sent me the new hoses with round ends.....but they are also thinner so the banjo bolt bottoms out.
My question is does anyone know if the round end would be ok to use, or is it not an acceptable alternative?
I called the guy and he said to send them back, but he could not tell me why in the first place they used different ends.
Again If I were to get shorter banjo bolts do you feel these would be ok?
Thanks,
Joe
