Hotels in Las Vegas

I go to Vegas every few months to gamble, see shows and the variety of restaurants. If you want experience the Vegas that is portrayed in movies and the like "to have the full experience, so we are staying on the strip," I recommend a central location and just walk, as driving and parking on the strip can be a hassle. If you have enough days, get a day pass and take the metro bus downtown to see Fremont; it's easy.

Since you haven't been for 25 years, I will assume you have no comps and be paying rack rate for the hotel, in which case you may still be able to save a bit by pre-joining the associated player's club online before your trip and then booking, which may save some room rate dollars depending on the property.

As for central hotel locations I'd recommend, from least expense to serious dollars, I'd go with the following. Horseshoe, Flamingo, Harrahs, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Caesars, Cosmopolitan, and Aria. A lot of the other casinos you've heard of are on one end of the strip or the other, and just too far for most people of certain age to walk to other locations. Give us a little trip report after, and let us know how it went.

Last time we went to Vegas ,Stayed at the Flamingo. Nice room . And centrally located.
I wouldn't rent a car unless I was going outside of the strip area , take an uber or Lyft form the airport .
These places charge and arm and leg to park your car there

Only if you pull up in front & use valet parking.... I've never once paid for parking in Vegas.. And while I typically stay in North Vegas I've often driven to the strip and Fremont street, spend time people watching since I rarely drink & I never gamble...

Booked the trip!! We're staying at Aria (her pick). And shhhhhhh, it's a surprise-I got tickets to Garth Brooks for us.

Hey Mario, don't get too Jacked about the pinball place, it's an old grocery store with alot
of old machines that you can play. It's O.K. for about a half-hour. Do the Gondola at the
Venetian with your Girl, and go to the top of the Eiffel tower. She'll like it! The Bellagio fountain
and Garth at the Colosseum will be great! Cirque Du Soleil "Myste're" has been there forever, but
it really kicks ***! Yeah, you have to watch those resort fees or a deal turns into no deal. Have fun!

Paulie, can you opt out of the resort fees? Aria is $50/day

Not really, they say it's for the parking, pool, WiFi, and exercise room. It sucks.
Oh yeah, if you want a good breakfast at a local restaurant where the contractors
eat, go to The Golden Bear west of the strip at 6180 W. Tropicana.

I gotcha. Blah blah blah, let us go into yer pocket a little deeper. Wouldn't miss any of it except maybe the pool. Though my fat *** shouldn't be going anywhere near a pool with others around. LOL

Yeah, you won't be the biggest fatass at any pool in Vegas! Hell, comparatively you'll look like Arnold Schwarzenegger!
Bring dark sunglasses so you can't look at all the ugly people! (But they have money!)

I hear there's a ranch out that way called the Chicken Ranch, it seems like a ranch would know where to get a cowboy hat, you should stop in there and ask. Don't bring your girl that way you can surprise her with your new cowboy hat.

Get yourself a MGM players card. Show it if you are eating, drinking, gambling, staying at any MGM casino. When you check out, ask if they will comp you anything.
