I should be fine without doing that, when the car was being setup, we used a 12 inch wheels with 29.10.5w tire

I took out the centre reverse lights on my '64 Polara, and replaced and rewired for a third red stop/tail light. Then I wired in an electronic sequencer to flash the 3 signal lights on each side like a modern Mustang. For reverse lights, I wired in a pair of 440-series Dodge in the licence plate cove. Just to be different!
