Nice looking (was) mid 60s Corvette wasn't so aerodynamic on the top end of the track.
The "Street Outlaws" gang usually run ½ a race, ⅛th mile. Looks like it floated right at the end...He's got WAY more experience than I do, but if he would have pulled his chute early enough vs not at all, he might have saved his car.

I spent a summer in Bay St Louis when I was a kid. I'm betting Gulfport dragway wasn't there then, and if it had been, I was way too young anyway.
That said, that vintage of corvette is fairly well known for having a lot of body lift at speed, and I think the roadsters are worse than the fastbacks. Kinda surprised more attention wasn't paid to the aero on that car.
