How Can I Remove this Top Plate??

I need to get to the signal awitch wiring but metal plate is in the way. This tilt mechanism is from a gm vehicle that was used for a tilt column conversion on my coronet some years ago. Anyone know how to remove it??

Push it down and remove the wire retainer clip/snap ring at the base of the big splines.

Get yourself one of these tools, I can’t remember name. It will push in on the plate allowing you to remote retainer.

I'm wasn't sure if the switch was gm or mopar. I knew the tilt mechanism was gm and it was wired for Mopar but everything worked as it should. The conversion was done by CJ's Rods and Machine about 10yrs ago. I already tried to contact them for a diagram but phone number is no longer good.
