Well, I pulled a 440 and installed a new one for my friend the Vietnam Vet. So basically spent 2 days hanging out with JJ and getting his GTX back up and running. I have the old 440 on my trailer to pull apart to find out what went bad. I suspect burnt valves or something a little catastrophic. I tried as hard as I could to get it up and running so he could have it for Memorial day cruising. But a few setbacks came into play and put a chink in the armor. Dowl pin issue on the block and the other issue was a transmission bolt would not screw back into the block. I tried 3 bolts for about an hour... No go. Anyhow thats how I spent my Sunday and Monday. Saturday my daughter graduated from high school with honors.

Mainly did some odds and ends....cleaned up a bunch of twigs and a few small limbs from the wind we've been having lately plus the rain storm we got several days ago. Yeah, I put it off because it has still been windy but I have to mow real soon. The biggest thing I got do was fixed my wiring issue on my beater Dakota. Only took about 1 1/2 hours but already knew what had to be done and it turned out to be just what it needed. Why my 'educated' (but in Ford) didn't do it that way several years ago is anyone's guess. lol

I should do more on my car... :BangHead: procratination

Weird thing is he just drove this GTX to and back from Mississippi. Glad it didn’t go south on him down there. It at least waited until he got back to have a failure.
