How much carb is too much carb

No, you missed my point. It's not the "size" of the carb.
i didnt miss it, i understand that you said a single plane intake with a smaller carb. i understand that a 600 with a single plane would do well. and thats why im looking into other intakes. from what ive read though, is that this intake works decently from idle to 6000 rpm, which is why i chose it, as dual planes are typically for street performance and single is for racing. at least thats what ive been told for my life and was kind of the "rule of thumb". now i understand that doesnt apply to everything, but racing is usually higher rpms, where as cruising is lower rpms.

holy crap. i realized that i have been wrong this entire time. my intake is a single plane. the torker is a single plane. guess i need to go find a new intake, as ive been wrong. i dont know how i did so, but i did.

The Holley 3310 is a great carb, we used that on many applications. I'd recommend a dual-plane intake for your car.

So what about the question at hand regarding the carb. Said it's popping back through the carb. Man...you're 180 out. I've done it and it's happened to me more times than I wish to admit. Popping back through the carb almost has nothing to do with the carb. The firing order is all mixed up or it's 180 out. I can almost guarantee it. I hate it when it does that and my head is all up under the hood and everytime it was because I was screwing with the distributor and/or messing with the timing. Same thing. Firing order or 180 out

If it’s running and driving there is no way it’s 180. Not a chance in hell. Kim

The torker has no place being on a stock motor. It kills the low end like u wouldn’t believe. A stock 4 bbl intake is way better. This is my findings. I’ve sold off many torkers. Each time the guy was happier than a pig in ****. Kim

The Torker intake is not a good intake for Torque. That is why Edelbrock used a different spelling. They knew it didn't make Torque so they called it a Torker. I learned that lesson the hard way! Back in the 80's when I first started working on cars I saved up my money and bought a Torker intake because Hot Rod liked them. Took me years but I gradually figured out that what Hot Rod really liked was advertising dollars. The Torker intake was crap and so were the Hooker headers that I spent a bunch of money for.
Oh well, I guess in the long run I ended up better because of all of that. Cynical and bitter, but wiser.

I like "too much cfm".
