Let's get some data points - what is your b-body, how much does it weigh, and how is it set up?

The red car has been a point where I try to find ways to shave weight without compromising comfort or capability.
It is right near 3920 yet has the following:
440 based 495, Tremec 5 speed, 8 3/4" axle, 4 wheel power disc brakes, full sound deadening-carpet-interior. Huge torsion bars-sway bars, chassis stiffening and reinforcements.

Some of the components that save weight compared to conventional, stock components:
Aluminum used for the radiator, heads, intake, WP and housing, A/C compressor, master cylinder, Lithium battery that weighs 7 lbs! Also Modern disc brakes and aluminum calipers.
THIS car by comparison....

The last time I weighed it, it was a surprising 3620. It had a stock bench seat, no carpet, no heater/defroster box or rear seat. It now has bigger torsion bars, bucket seats, heater, carpet and rear seat. All of that stuff adds about 100 lbs.
This car has had no efforts at weight savings. It has 12" iron disc brakes, iron calipers, rear drums, big sway bars but is a 383 model without A/C.
I always weigh the cars with a full tank of gas to have an accurate comparison. The place where I weigh the car is a shipping and moving facility. The only thing I don't like is that their scales only have 20 lb increments. A reading can vary between 3900 and 3920 lbs and I'd not see a difference of 19 lbs. In theory, I could have a car weigh 3901 lbs and the scale rounds UP to 3920.
There are many areas where weight can be reduced without any drawbacks. One is a spacesaver spare. How often do you actually USE a spare tire? Why not carry a spare that weighs 18 lbs instead of a 50 lb 225-70-15 ?

The Scale in Vegas must be wrong. Mine showed just over 3500 with me inside pushing 200 at the time, and beer in the trunk. Just Bilsteins, an extra leaf due to sag, and subframe connectors. Nice predictable handling and comfy ride too. Took about 25 years to figure it out.

Please check your work Greg.

- Perhaps 3901 lbs and 3920 lbs???

My 65 was 3941 without me in it. Iron head 440, 727, a/c, p/s, d/b, 1/2 tank of fuel.

Your car sure weighs more than 3300.
Coronets and Satellites do weigh less than the equally equipped Chargers but usually only around 200 lbs.
Your car has a 440, Tremec 5 speed, 4 wheel 11" drums, modern A/C and a Dana 60. Your trunk is often FULL too.
My red car....when it was a green 318 with factory A/C, 904-8 1/4" axle with 4 wheel 10" drums....weighed 3660. Single exhaust, AM radio, 14" wheels,

I'm going to weight this barge when i get it running in the spring. I'm guessing 4,000 to 4400 or so with me in it. Has a 440 with aluminum heads, 727, 8 3/4. Full interior, but no spare.

66 Satellite - 3,640 lbs.
318 poly (now 354) (the world's heaviest engine according to folklore), full factory interior except no heater box, factory radio, 727 (when car was weighed), 8 3/4 rear, 14" Magnum 500s with 245/60 and 215/70, no spare or jack (just fingers crossed).

Regarding vehicle weights, don't trust any published data, ever.
Weigh the cars yourself on a scale and be there to see it with your own eyes.
People that trust any published numbers must also trust the factory HP and torque ratings as well as the compression ratios.

True this. lot's of people drank the Kool-aid with the at curb weights of the factory on their registration forms which could vary much. Some p[eop[le/transport companies adjusted the numbers so as to pay less registration costs or weight citations in certain states. Put 'em on good digital scales and know the numbers on all four corners.

My wagon weighed 3580 before I took out about 30#s. Aluminum heads, water pump and housing, 3" exhaust w/c.o.s, GV OD, 727, 8 3/4 w/SG, Caltrac mono leafs and bars, plastic fuel cell, no interior behind bucket seats, no wiper system, glass hood, steel rear wheels.

Most of my B's are 3600-3800 without me in them. My red loaded R/T S.E. Charger is 4290 with a 1/4 tank without me in it. My blue ASAG street/strip Mega block Hemi

70 Challenger is 3760 at full race weight both bottles and with me fully suited in it. GM's are much lighter. My buddy's Pontiac GTO was 3460 and my Brother's 69 Camaro was 3290. All on certified scales.

This thread inspired me to return to the scales where I've been weighing my cars.
Today, as ready for the street with all equipment in place including spare tire and about 20 lbs of jack-tools-ignition parts....

3940.

As I stated earlier, the place I use only breaks down to 20 lb increments and rounds UP so I am between 3921 and 3940.

66 Belvedere I with a /6, 904, 7 1/4 rear was 3370 with factory AC and 8 3/4 went in later. Had rubber floor mats and lots of undercoating and looked like 100 coats of paint (filled up 2 five gallon buckets of scrapings....razor bladed it off). The paint started making mini volcanoes so off it came along with all the undercoating which was thick. Fiberglass hood went on, front bumper got lost, doors were hole punched, rubber floor mats got thrown away, most of the inner body sound deadening removed. Factory bench seat removed and mid 70 Duster seats went in because the bench was wasted.
