How much $$ have you sunk into your baby? Not counting time or blood sweat and tears. just curious to the extent we all go. So far just parts wise (not including bonds and primer ) I'm around 3200. I'm sure alot will say too much on theirs, but be honest.

I put a whole lot of GREEN into car, then when I try to sell it, no one wants it anyway, Go figure.

I'm about $3500 so far. But engine coming out in a few for a rebuild so that will go up just a lot! But I knew this going in! It's what we do!

Ya know, I've actually sat down and figured this out a few times, and I always come up w/ somewhere around the 10k mark

Between brakes, engine and trans rebuilds (x2, ask me how I found out how fast a high volume pump can drain a stock oil pan) suspension rebuilds, a center section for the rear and wheels and tires, it adds up... but I don't plan on selling it ever, so I don't worry about how much I've got in it

Anyone can have a car that loses value from the dealer, and 10 grand on a classic is worth the looks and wows! Do that with a newer car, at 30 grand, everyone has... It's not about money. Pride/sweat/learning/ doing it your way and being admired for it.

I'm at about $4200 with tti headers and exhaust, new tires, disc brakes, subframe connectors, aluminum radiator and a few other things still left...I'm sure by the time I'm done it will be $10K...and that doesn't count the 5-speed tranny if I decide to go that route

Sat with a licensed, certified appraiser in order to apply for "agreed value" insurance. Appraiser said, "Let's add up your receipts". Okay...then I hit the final total button; once I regained consciousness, saw the figure north of $55K. Sure shows you how much you can spend when it takes you 8 years and you're doing it "piecemeal".

Are you including the initial cost of the car or just what you "put into it"?

Mine includes the price of the car( $500 ). Whatever you want to tell us.

With a lot of help, trading, swap meet, donations, swapping and trading parts and all labor done for zero $. The end total was under 15K.

i have a box stuffed full of reciepts of parts from 4 different cars
one day i will take them all out
add some lighter fluid and burn them!
i think if i knew, it would ruin it
so i never felt a need to keep track of it.

I have about 13 in mine that's including buying the car doing all the work myself except paint and engine machine shop costs
