How much $$have you put into your MOPAR?

Are you including the initial cost of the car or just what you "put into it"?
That's everything--includes the initial cost of the car, shipping, etc. right down to stainless steel screws.

over $120k, including freight from the states and all my parts were bought from the states

I would say over a GIZZION dollars.Plus the cost of the learning curve:laughing11:

Does it really matter? Love of machine is not about the $$.

I say this because I haven't really even started to spend money on it yet and I'm in around $20K just prepping for what I will do to it. That doesn't count the $1,200 I paid for it in 1978.

Originally I budgeted $30K. I have since updated that to $75K. Ask me again next year.

Again, does it really matter?

It doesn't matter, but you just cant help try and keep track of all the dollars ..... Including the car, I'm at $9400 and I haven't even driven it around the block yet ! My '68 coronet BTW

LOL, my car has been in the restoration shop 6 years, not counting the engine, I pay monthly, I had paid for the prep 6 years before, last month's bill for painting was over $7K....Somewhere between $35-40K and I don't have all the chrome restoration finished, NOS parts acquired over 8 years, the engine is finished, tranny rebuilt. But don't have the brakes, the car is not assembled or the interior done and I'm about out of money and think at least 15K+ more to complete, if I'm lucky.

If it's any consolation Blackheart, looking good so far.
Keep the faith brother.

x2 learning curve aye ye ye so much money gone. $25k and climbing still need body & paint small trim then done whoo hoo lol estimated at $35 when done lower if lucky.

Don't know. Don't care. You can go through my receipt folder if you have time. Add $3,450 for the initial purchase price back in 1988.

wow i have alot invested in mopars /muscle cars in general couldnt say
this project about 1700 including price of 1963 plymouth

I had a budget of $39,000 (that is what I had put away - nothing magical about the number).

I will blow that budget, as most of that money is already gone. Bodywork and parts. I planned for all the big expenses, like bodywork, fuel injection, etc. The surprise is the cost of all the "insignificant" small parts, that quickly add up... :tied up:

Having said all that, I don't care about the cost/value element. I do this because I love the cars.
