How to restore a car

For example, here is the 69 RR barn find I've been working on the last 6 years. about 7k in parts and supplies so far and if I charged by the hour for what I charge for my time working in real world it would probably be way over 50k. Much work to be done and I'm just trying to make a hotrod/driver. I'd probably be lucky to get 25k when done if I was trying to sell it.

What is @Paul_G restoring? Any pictures to share?

...don't ever get into a hobby, to make money.

Cars.
Motorcycles.
Guns.
Racing.
Any of them - the best way to end up with a small fortune, is to start with a large fortune.

Do what YOU want with it. If someone likes it more than you...sell it to them. If they don't like it as much as you do...keep it. But, have fun with it regardless.

Just my 2 cents. And I mean that. Our car is a car that Father in law bought from original dealer. It is a 66 Coronet 500 Vert, 361, 2 barrel, 4 speed, Suregrip. They made 62 of these cars. Wife drove it as her High School Ride. Went into the barn in 83, back out in 2015 for the Resto. Numbers Matching everything but disposables. It will be in our family for a LOOOOng Time. Back to original, we decided Yes. Will it be worth a lot of money???????? Frankly dont care. It is a family heirloom. We will have it for awhile and the next generation will then do with it what they prefer. All of the above folks are correct. You got it, its your money, you do it to satisfy YOU. Our decision works for us. OOOOH, with some coaching, we did use a Two Pot Master cylinder for brakes vs Stock single. Glad we did that. O/wise, pretty Stock and original. Best, Brian
