How would you handle this situation with another FBBO member purchase

Outlaw525 I want to say its the shippers fault, but its on you for not following the rules and paypal policy (but you know that). I would think the seller is honest as did you and try to help a fellow FBBO member, but you have to post up the name for all of us to be able to condemn bad behavior. The only recourse you have is to help prevent a dirt bag from cheating someone else. Post all the information you have and maybe someone else will not get cheated... It is the sellers responsibility to follow through as a responsible adult..

He Outlaw525 knows that he messed up too, hinds sight is 20/20
that is the bad part, might have been duped or it may have been a scam,
it may just have been just a shipping issue too...

Until you hear from both sides it's hard to say

BUT IMO the shipper should honor what they say,
bypassing/sidestepping the typical payments,
regardless of Pay Pall BS std.'s, should be a lesson for everyone...

The "Family & Friends " deal should only be done with actual F&F,
then it's on you, for trusting a F or F, no excuses...
I'm sure he damn well knows that now too...

Hopefully it all works out

The burden "ethically" should be on the shipper,
BUT we all know ethics or morality, doing the right things,
unfortunately has very little to do with parts & cars sales

caveat emptor {?} buyer beware

I never use paypal just for these reasons. It's on the shipper, but there are no ethics or morals anymore so I doubt he does the right thing. Take it as a lesson learned, although an expensive one. I always use a postal money order and have received parts via ups and USPS and so far, have had very good luck. If people won't take a postal money order, I usually see that as a red flag anyway and if it costs me a deal, so be it. Good luck.

PayPal is safer than money orders. What would happen if someone cashes your MO and never sends the item?

Just an update: Seller has agreed to make this good and had reasons for not contacting me. Like I said, I want to give people the benefit of the doubt and didn't want to prematurely throw anyone "to the wolves" LOL.

More than anything, I wanted to give other members a heads up on what to avoid by my dumba$$ mistake.

So.......

- Never do Paypal F&F
- Ask to make sure the seller is going to insure the package. (I do this automatically when I ship anything over $150)
- In the future I will ask that anything of any weight be shipped UPS.

Thanks for the input and support- MOPARS RULE!

I'm happy you're going to get this done the right way. You were straight up the way you handled things. I certainly learned a few lessons from this post.

Glad to see it "all" worked out,
lesson learned

good luck in the future

we have some great members here

I HAVE been through this myself. The seller owns the rights to the post office shipping label. Which means the seller only can file for a claim. You have one year. The seller should have insured the package. If, not then he owes you a full refund. If he does not pay you back promptly then you send him a certified letter demanding payment in 10 days. If he fails to pay you by the deadline then you file a small claims case against him. Usually will cost you about $80 plus having him served.

Personally, I feel that their is NO excuse for this kind of behavior from anyone and you need to bust his balls legally.
