That is a beautiful Charger you got there ! Nice to see you get Mopars at your cruise, around here it's the usual pack of {yawn} Corvettes, Camaros, & Mustangs. Many of which are newer, checkbook cars.

Car shows suck. If you go to enjoy the cars, I'll buy the beer. If you go to have your ego stoked,well..........
Even if my pile was nice, and it isnt, you are surrendering to other folks opinion of your efforts, providing you built, not bought. Rant over.

I have nothing against car shows and I used to enter them, but after a few, they kind of lose their luster. You have to sit there all day and wait till 2pm or whatever for the trophy's to be handed out. I still like to go and look at what is out there, but if I actually enter, I just leave after I have enjoyed my time there. I do not care about trophy's.

One thing you learn very quickly is that there are people with very deep pockets that are practically professional car show attendees that will always take the "best in show" etc....

All that said, your Charger is looking damn good Doug!!! You represented Ma Mopar very well!!!

A bit bitter? Car shows are best, when multi-brand. My cars are never stock, and I don't care about or listen to the numbers-fags/experts. I find them amusing. I also build my cars for myself, and don't give 2-shits what others think about them.

By the way...nice car Doug. Glad ya had a good time.

Agree, nice Charger. Not bitter, just opinionated. A friend had a nice survivor 49 Pontiac , under 50k original miles. Had sat in a garage for 30 years. They cleaned it, got it running & went to some shows. Lost every time to a 57 Bel Aire that had a repaint & every pos J.C.Whitney add on you can imagine. This in the unrestored class. Too much politics, favoritism & unqualified judges. Just my experiences.

I didn't go for the ego stroke I went there to get ideas to make my car better being a machinist I'm always interested in the mechanical and fabrication of parts on these cars. I have some ideas for the winter should be fun. It's great just talking to other people who have the same passion as I do to make sure our cars will be handed down one day to a younger generation that appreciates great muscle cars.In my opinion that's how you should look at car shows. A 18 year old boy came up to me after the show and was looking at a AMX he told me he's restoring a Gremlin he showed me a video of a 360 they just put in and started. It makes me smile big time to see a kid wanting to do this to a classic instead of a Honda. Sorry for my rant also.

Car shows are the best ! For me, it's like going back in time, when all these cars were the usual on the roads & what I was working on. And to show the newer generations what real cars are, not the cookie-cutter gadgetmobiles that are produced nowadays.

There was only 2 in our class which was stock he had a 1974 Roadrunner with 17,000 original miles .I was really not suppose to be in the stock class because I have headers they said you can keep your hood closed to be in the that class .He won I got a 2nd place plaque but really I should of been in modifide .When I went up to get my plaque I'm walking back I see my wife clapping and it reminded me of all the kids now a days that get trophy so for participating ha ha.

Nice. Like that 500 too. Had enough sense to leave a space and a half between cars.

In these parts of Long Island ny,there is a cruze in almost every night with car shows every Sat & Sun.I enjoy the social gathering with all brands. As for the judged shows,I get there too late to be "judged".If I do get something,it's unexpected and just add then to the rest.

Took my car in this morning to have the new wheels/tires installed as well as having the front end aligned after all new suspension installed. Hoping for a much smoother ride!

Your charger looks nice. I really enjoy car shows especially when one or more of my family can tag along. Because of work I don't get much family time plus they are all grown. Mopar's are my hobby and I'm glad to share it with them. When it's just a Mopar show then that makes it even better. Hope your temps and humidity in WA were better than here in TN. Its boiling out. Oh and thanks for the pictures. Nice job.
