The TV in my bedroom just went out. Measuring the screen it was 46" I know TVs get better and cheaper every year. Now Black Friday is just around the corner with large-screen TV deals. I also heard companies make cheaper, les quality TVs just for black Friday. I would like to get a bigger screen with 4K. Isn't there some new even finer resolution? My ideal would be large tv without the newest, newest tech so the prices have become reasonable or even inexpensive.

Does anybody know about TVs?

It's funny with no TV I've already dived into one of my Mitch Rapp novels. I love that series And ordered two more of them off Amazon. I should be good for a month at least.

Are there any Mitch Rapp fans here? I was so sad when the original author Vince Flynn died young but his successor Kyle Mills has done a decent job.

From what I've read, cheap black Friday products are built with cheaper parts. Don't know....just what I've read....or red. That said, I like to stay away from Samsung products. Haven't had good results from anything with the Samsung name on it.

Send as little money as possible to China. Buy the cheapest one you can find as they are all disposable crap made with the same chinesium regardless of brand name.

I recommend the OLED, the curved one I have is super. Don’t fall for the QLED, it’s not the same.

While shopping during the introduction of 4k, every where I went in the store and from every angle my eyes could not stop going back to the OLED.

Done

Go Big

Robot or human?

Go Cheap

Actually I Like my Roku sticks as I had to update some older Sony TVs that I just absolutely love and have had zero issues with when I went totally wireless throughout the house

Have a few of these with built in Roku

Anyways

Robot or human?

Zenith was the hold out. The Last television manufacturer in the USA. LG acquired zenith and shut the business down.

Had a Panasonic 10 years it's on 14/15 hours a day. Don't turn it off unless I'm out of the house for 3 or 4 hours. I've heard turning electronics like TVs on and off (heat/cool/heat/cool) is tough on them? True or False I don't know, could be full of s-it.

I recently had to replace my 43" Samsung Smart tv. It lasted about 4 years, and was past warranty. I decided to replace it with a cheaper generic brand, figuring I would likely have to replace it every 4 or 5 years anyway. A local electronics shop had a Black Friday sale last year and featured a Hisense Roku smart tv in the size I needed. It was less than $ 300Can., and has more features than the Samsung it replaced. As far as all that alpha-numeric mumbo-jumbo that goes with the high price stuff, I don't think my local cable service supports it all, anyways.

Loved our Sony Trinitron, worked flawlessly, gave it away after many, many years. Our new is Sony is junk, constantly resetting it. Never again...

About the same here. I've got a 32" Vizio I have been using as my computer monitor/tv/gaming for probably 6, 7 years or more now and only time it turns off is when it goes to sleep after an hour of not moving the mouse. Stays on pretty close to all day every day and still going strong.
I like Vizio,
Mine has been good to me.

I'd agree as far as not having one for cable but I can't stand looking at a tiny screen on a phone. Navigating any webpage is a nightmare on those things.

You missed my point, I simply don't watch television... At all... Period...
