I was living in a van down by the fairgrounds!

I took my 75 Dodge van to Carlisle this weekend, and camped in it. It was a blast. My wife wanted me to take it there to sell it, because she hates it! She calls it a perv van! Lol, I am keeping it. It has 70s wood grain paneling, and a diamond tuck headliner, its just too cool! What a great weekend it was,I hope everyone else enjoyed the show too.View attachment 626598View attachment 626599 View attachment 626601View attachment 626602

That's great for going to swap meets etc. If it ain't costing you anything just keep it

No doubt! My wife wanted to sell it to them right on the spot! I said that it's my perv van and I don't want to sell it! I guy I work with has a Chevy van and he was getting out of it the other day and a pretty chick asked him if that was his "stabbin cabin" lol!

Nice fuel cap setup.
@chargervert we have similar tastes....this was taken about 2010.....the same month that an episode of Chip Foose's "Overhaulin" aired here in NZ. That guy had the same idea as me. I had been planning my version for months. :)

Living in a van is more than unique and interesting. Maybe if you could find a way to tell your wife about the advantages of living in a van she would change her mind. Aside from the fact that a van costs less than a house, one of the main reasons someone might consider living in a van is the mobility it offers. You can travel and live at a low cost and this is exceptional. If the van is old that doesn't mean it can't be used or redecorated very pleasantly. I hope you can convince her not to sell the van and keep it as a vintage piece.

Van's are making a comeback, I am ahead of the curve with mine! There was a van class at Carlisle, and there was about a half dozen of them, a couple of them were 70s time machines! Really cool rides, right down to the orange shag carpet!
