Got to replace my 2nd set in less than a year and tried copper in between those. I took the time to write to Hedman and they are sending me a composite set for free with specific instructions for installation.
yeah been there done that , they say they are gauranteed but they are crap and wont stand behind them , I burned them out in less then six months . Called then and they did nothing except tried to sell me another set and told me i over torqed themGet a set of "remflex" brand gaskets...expensive...but gauranteed not to leak...they work!!!
what headers ? are the flange surfaces true ?
Are they very old Hedmans ? These were the Hedmans on my old 440 that were bought around 1999 and these never gave me any problems leaking. But they have a thicker flange then the older ones made in the 70's and 80's. These are not as thick as TTI flanges but they are thicker then real old headers which helps keep them from warping and leaking. If your Hedmans have thin flanges they may be warped and may not seal with any gasket if warped to much. Ron

I have had excellent results with the Mr. Gasket Ultra Seals.
