Imports at the Track Rant

So yesterday at my local 1/8 mile track they had a "Match Race Madness" deal where they invited a bunch of the import/tuner guys to square off against the domestics.

The day turned into a total cluster. I usually can get anywhere from 6 to 10 runs in. Yesterday I got in three runs because the imports kept scattering their parts and oiling down the track.

I've edited this post heavily to concentrate just on the cars aspect of things.

Looks like things hasn't changed much over the years but is just getting worse. Here, anyone with their thumping rap crap in the staging lanes OR the pits would get hammered. The 'thugs' are taking over....

The track must be trying to expand the clientèle/demographic base, put more fans in the seat
& cars on the track, money in their coffers/pockets, at the expense of the long time regulars,
hope it doesn't kill it off...

I sure wouldn't like the cRap blaring loud, the constant cursing
& the squirrelly wanta-be thugs or gang banger cRap, around a kid either...
It seems kind of status quo, for the tuner rice rocket crowd thou...

I went thru a period in the late 90's like that too,
it royally sucked, it didn't last but a couple years too long,
many tracks never went back to normal either, burned some people out...

such is life...

I have to deal with this crap all the time during test-n-tune. They bring their junk to the track, blast their shitty music so you can't hear the track announcer, rev their garbage to 10,000 rpm in the pits, smoke pot then bust on the starting line and stay in the groove all the way down the track. 1 car= 1-1/2 hour cleanup.

I've been teaching high school kids for 5 years now and all I hear about is their turbo kits on otherwise stock imports, especially when they find out I'm a car guy. All they talk about is turbos, chips and camber kits. When I mention cranks, transaxles and rods their eyes literally glaze right over.

Every year I have a kid or two that tell me they want to put a cam in it. Like, an EXTRA cam cuz more cams make it faster.

Apparently they have not read or aware of NHRA fines for this kind of behavior and why are they not being enforced. Facilities should be open to all but if no one is willing to set or inforce guide lines why would you expect behaviors to change? Our sports and hobbies depend on all generation's and is a fact some are not willing to accept. I have dropped parts on the track myself and got an a** chewing for it fortunately the old guy also was will to help rectify the problem I was having.

It's always like that at Fontana speedway as well, always the imports blowing up due to lack of experience, but money is money anymore that's all some tracks care about, plus half the time they don't even prep the track if they do its just very little spray.

Same thing going on here in southern Ontario. Fellas...went to fastest street car shootout at Toronto motorsports park in sept........wicked fast cars......only thing I didn't like was the boom boxes......popping of the turbos..oiling down of the track and parts flying everywhere.......all imports....i understand the need for keeping the sport going but this was ridiculous...........

Raceway park, Englishtown, NJ is infested with the thugs and their "fart Cannons" Rice crap. The track owner has no choice look at the stands when our cars are their all empty.

You forgot to tell them when we were there last, the lowlife scumbags went into my truck, stole my NY driver license, NHRA Comp license, $90.00 cash and 3 credit cards.
I saw the prick ride between my truck and Bobtiles truck, 30 second later my drivers license in on the ground and the punk was gone like a fart in the wind.
They threw garbage all over the pits and were smoking weed like they were in Colorado

Sounds like you have legitimate grievance's and its to bad track and local officials are not doing something about it. And to think our local track got shut down because some one move in and did not like the noise.

I was at Atco, in December a few years back.
8 cars total.
I was all by myself away from everyone, and who decides to park right next to me.
A phucking Honda revving his shitbox up to 12,000 rpm's.
For an hour straight. I went over to him and said WTF dude. You have a whole parking lot to rev your POS and you park next to me.
I had to move to another spot, They have no consideration for other people.

If being replaced by scumbags makes me mad then ok. But these people are complete bums, dirt bags and thugs. They race their junk, leave a mess all over the place and imagine these are the young that would replace us! I think it would take 15 of them to replace one of me.
