Incomplete Starter Date Code??

I am trying to decipher a starter date code but only see a single digit (7) in the circle below the starter number. Is this just a poor stamping, or does a single digit signify something else?

Mike it’s really hard to tell where the dots are all located on the pie wheel . You may consider a thin piece of paper and make a pencil rubbing to post. Those are cast into the housing and usually sandblasted away by rebuilders. I can see two spots with dots but that’s it.

Spray paint it, let it dry, rub with a scotchbrite to expose the raised info.

those numbers are cast into the metal so they are raised. They are not stamped in the aluminum.
