Ok I am now at the point of assembling my steering Center link. And attaching the tie rods/pitman/idler aems.

Looking at the FSM I didn’t find the part about centering up the steering gear/Pitman Arm initially.

I assume I need to center the Pitman to the box to give me equal Left Right range. Just trying to figure out how to clock it. Also I suppose the Idler also needs this as well?

Thank you in advance for your help on this.

The pitman arm only fits 4 ways, three of them put the arm in a position that absolutely will not work. Realistically, there is only one right way it goes on.

Look close. There are 4 flat spots 90 degrees apart. You would have to be really drunk to install it wrong.

Thanks KD. Do I need to find the “high spot” of the gear box for centering?

On stock steering boxes, there is a flat spot at 12:00 when the guts of the box are centered.
With the Borgeson, you have to either rotate it full left then right to establish center or use a torque wrench to find the point with the highest torque resistance. Screw that....I just rotated the input shaft back and forth and counted the turns. I marked 12:00 with a paint pen.

Again, the stock steering box has a flat spot here and the coupler is matched to fit that.
