Insane parts prices!

I put prices on everything so people can decide if the part is what they are looking for and is within the price range they are willing to spend on the part.
That is what I do. There are prices on masking tape or paper tags on most of what I lay out to sell.

Putting a price on a part takes effort though, probably expends about 1/2 of a calorie. That's more than some of these guys want to invest.

Another thing that pisses me off about all the swap meets is no one prices out there stuff. You have to ask only to find out it is some ridiculous price. You make an offer and they refuse and still want there insane asking prices. They won't even counter offer. I see many of these guys hauling the same stuff around for years and years.
I don’t price my stuff, if only because the price is what myself and a buyer agree on. If someone asks, I tell them what I want, usually it is snapped up without negotiation. If there is negotiation, it always is in the buyers favor. It doesn’t bother me to ask about a price if I’m looking at something, and I’m usually not buying because I need it. Most people are surprised by my opening price, even if they’re not buying they always say “that’s a good price”.

Now, if you’ve been to my spots, you’ve enjoyed our many promotions through the years. Our famous “buy it even if you don’t need it” sale, and of course our “buy one, get one” sale is always met with a hearty laugh. My main goal is to get people the parts they need, make it equitable between us both, have some fun and makes some friends and repeat customers. Most of all, I’m doing this hobby with my brother, and I enjoy every minute we spend together!

71 Cuda fender, rust free, but dented on top by the gill area. Had $200 on it, would’ve taken $100 had anybody offered.

You need one of those K Mart blue lights so you can run blue light specials! For those not familiar with K Mart,it was a department store, and they had a blue cop light on a pole with wheels on it and they would move it around the store and light it up and announce a temporary sale on items where the lit up light was!

I would love to have one of those, I would just leave it flashing all the time. Now, I wish I would’ve come up with the “engine displacement” pricing game that our member “Mobileparts”Craig came up with. You pile up your parts, he asks you to name a Mopar engine displacement, and that is your price. I learned early on to go with the slant 6 and not the 440 or 426.

You are showing your age in that you know what a blue light special is. I used to wait for those to get a model at the local K mart.

We need a delusional parts sellers thread! I started it with....

6k 71 Charger R/T doors
3k 71 Charger R/T taillights
$3300 e body convertible top frame
2k inner windshield moldings for e body convertible
15k Cuda NOS rear quarter panel
5k for a pair of Challenger convertible inner rear interior panels!

Show me some other R/T doors currently for sale so I can compare prices so you don’t think I am delusional. Nothing to base a price on. Maybe you have them all in your garage. Lol

Yep,I lived it! Lol
And how about the K Mart lunch court? We used to take my grandma to K Mart all the time after the Kresgee store closed. We would shop for awhile, then head to the lunch court and get us a grilled cheese and tomato soup. And chocolate pudding for dessert. I’d give anything to have one of those days back now, and get me a model from the model aisle!

Since I have bought more than a few of them, the market value of 71 Charger R/T doors is $300 to $500 each for rough ones needing extensive work,or the louvered area can be salvaged and grafted into a standard Charger door. $500 to $1000 each in fairly straight repairable condition needing lower rust repairs and some straightening,$1000 to $1500 in good straight usable condition, with the lower number needing some rust repairs in the lower corners or needing minor dents or scrapes repaired. $1500 to $2000 each for perfect no bondo, never rotted or rusted ready to paint and install $ 2000 being in NOS condition. You can ask more than that if you want, but they won't sell. The taillights range from $500 to $1500 depending upon condition, the bumper from $100 to $500 depending upon condition. I pretty sure that people who build 71 Charger R/T cars will agree with the numbers I just posted for you. I am not saying that you should sell your parts below what the market can bring you for them. But if you actually get the numbers you are asking I would be truly amazed. They are rare parts, and as I stated before I wouldn't want to have to pony up for them at today's market prices myself.

Those were the days! It was a great time to grow up in America!

I have another option for your parts,I can sell you a car to use them on if you want a Charger R/T project car. I have a 71 Charger R/T 440 4 speed car with the N96 Ramcharger hood option that's a roller that needs to be restored. It already has R/T doors and taillights, but your doors and taillights would certainly be an upgrade for the car. The car has good bones but needs metal work. I have a new AMD Ramcharger hood, two full rear quarter panels and outer wheel houses for the car. It has a nice original fender tag too.

I have been looking for a while for one to relive my childhood. I had a 71 500 GA4 in high school. Forced to sell. Too many tickets. I would rather find something that wasn’t a full blown project. I kind of gave up looking once the prices went to the moon( thanks Mecum and Barret Jackson) I would love a 4 speed driver i could destroy some tires with. Probably why the high prices. Deep down I don’t want to sell. But the fact I never see them for sale anywhere, ever, I tossed them on here in case someone really needed them and wanted to throw an offer.

I hear you. My car is a full blown project, but it is one of only 332 440 4 speed Charger R/T cars built in 71 with that engine and transmission combo, and is probably one of less than 100 of those with the N96 Ramcharger hood option. If you are really looking for one you might regret letting those parts go. I also have an N code 383 magnum Charger SE but it is a project car too. A running driving car is probably your best bet if you are not interested in doing a ground up restoration.

Here is one… $750 and he has the other side that could be used as a donor to make one..

That door looks very solid and fixable,I agree the passengers side sounds like a donor door.

Also note that's a retail parts specialist.

I think that I gave real and accurate prices for the parts he has. The door in the ad falls exactly where I figured, between $500 and $1000. I think that it is reasonably priced. Both the good door and the rusty one to graft can probably be bought for a bit over a grand.
