Thinking of using a fe-pro intake gasket with crossover block off , i live on the high desert and summers are in the 90’s mostly. Would this be a good idea or should I pass on this ?

Yes, I run that pan here in the midwest.
Between the block off , running a thermoquad on a thick gasket i have no fuel issues.

I did it with the 440 in my 1967 R/T. I live in southern Ontario, where we can get some fairly hot summers. I typically drive the car from April to November, with no adverse effects. This modification mostly solved the gasoline perculation problem (smell) in my garage, after driving it, with Edelbrock carb.

if you don't have a cold start problem no problem
do it
much cooler intake charge
denser cooler dispersion in the manifold, alum or cast iron (hopefully alum)
disarm any choke or choke stove etc. you have, it won't work after
