I have a 67 coronet with a stock hood. I have used my old school offy up past its service life and i am looking for a replacement manifold. I like the mopar performance duel plane intake but i am not sure it is going to clear the hood. anybody use this intake or have clearance issues with it ?

If I'm not mistaken the Mopar Performance dual plane is simply an aluminum version of the factory intake.
You would most likely run into problems running the Edelbrock Performer RPM which is a true high-rise.

Intake manifolds have a service life? The only one I ever wore out got "up close & friendly" with a nitrous explosion. Anyway, for a big block, I've also heard that the very old CH4B intake is close to stock height too.

Maybe you could put a big wad of clay on top you air cleaner, close the hood, measure how much clay didn't get squished & that will tell you how much taller of an intake you can run (using the same carb/air cleaner). Then you need to find out the intake manifold heights and compare. If worse comes to worse, you could always put on a drop-base air cleaner (or just the base, or modify your air cleaner by grafting in the drop base).

The clay is a good idea. "service life" is several repairs that have been failing due to previous repairs. All 4 corners have been welded rewelded and drilled and tapped and so on. Not sure another repair is worth pulling this thing off again.

Looking stock , but less high than a Edelbrock performer , with a drop down airfilter base schould be work .

I looked at that same manifold your looking at because I have 74 Charger with the flat hood. When I bought it, there was a Performer RPM manifold on it with the Edelbrock low profile bug eye air cleaner. That did hit the hood. I went with the Performer and even with a 1/2" spacer and regular air cleaner, no issues.

my 67 has a 440 & new motor mounts with the edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock carb, no spacer, chrome drop base air cleaner with the 3" element and conical summit lid.
I have 1 &1/2" of hood clearance measured with mashed clay :D
If I stick a flat lid on the air cleaner looks like I would gain another 1/2" of clearance that would free up room for a 1/2 spacer if ever needed.
