Inverted C stamp on ID pad of 440 engine

Hi, did anyone get to the bottom of the inverted C on the 440s? I have one here? I have yet to decode the VIN if that is even relevant?

According to Galen Govier it stands for special crankshaft and pistons.

70 car from Plant C,
But going back to your first picture, ,, that's a very late 70 engine build.. would be in an August car

Thanks, I think the thread was pretty much inconclusive...

My buddy suggested it was just a pass inspection mark from the factory.. which maybe makes sense in this case as C is the factory id also for this block for I think it was Philly Rd or wherever they made Chrysler and Imperials.

I was driving the engine and it was sound but the details of the internals are unknown to me so I would have liked to had more of a factory engine so I changed it out.. said that to say if there would be anything unique about this engine I don't know about it..
