Is there anywhere in the country right now where the chip shortage isn't effecting car prices?

Ford and GM have ceased vehicle production because of it.

Mopar is shipping new vehicles...but with one key fob, not two.

What amazes me is....nobody saw this coming??

There's a few second hand hell cats for 60k ish on cl. Around here not much else .
Go get a viper there cheap right now

I just talked to my Ford truck salesman & he says that no new inventory is coming in until October.

Lakeland Dodge. Lakeland, Florida. $1500 off sticker. Bought it the day after it arrived.
Test drive with the plastic still on it.

Standard Body. Well equipped. Dynamics package.

Yes. Ruby Red Alcantara inside. 2 requirements: no Hemi tick, and passenger seat power heat/cool with adjustments 18 ways to Sunday to keep Linda quiet. It passed. It’s a secret. She doesn’t know about it yet. White color is a compromise.

Another side of this not all folks see is the insurance company end of things.
We have had 2 total loss vehicles come through our shop the past 3 weeks.
Insurance companies are settling claims on totals at a record pace. Lmao.

Used to be they would fight and fool around on settlements , now the book value of these cars is rising each week.

Ya that's the current rebate off. Local dealer sent me offers for $4100 off scat and 7000 off hellcat but they won't honor their own offer!

If you are willing to travel for your car, i would buy in a state with no state sales tax. Save eight grand off the top, buying a $90k car in oregon instead of california.

It doesn't work that way in IL at least, when you go to register, you pay the tax here.

The second you register your car in CA you will pay the sales tax. Only way around is to have a residence in OR n register it there or create an LLC in OR and register it in the LLC name.

I bought my 11’ Ram 2500 in AZ, payed the sales tax there, registered it in Commiefornia, they took the sales tax from AZ.

And if AZ's was less, I'm sure they added the difference.

It was more actually. Plus Phoenix has a city vehicle tax that X amount per thousand. But I saved $10k by going there vs buying the exact truck here.

Used car prices crazy too. Dealer I bought my 2014 grand Cherokee made a good offer for the 2014.it was in very good shape even with 130k miles. Sold in in two days off craigslist for 1K more. But I did buy another grand Cherokee from the dealer. They only had 2 grand cherokees and amazing one was what I was looking for. But paid sticker probably first time ever.

Whatever it takes. Rent a shack for a couple months, establish residence, spend a couple grand to save nine?

I believe CA will still add the tax to the registration unless it's a couple yrs. CA wants their socialist tax dollars.

They will take whatever amount would be for the county you live in. Anything more the other State keeps.

Honestly, I’d like for the other State to tell Commiefornia “screw you, we’re keeping it”!
