Just ranting, but why doesn't one of these tubing companies create and sell a set of tranny cooler lines designed to fit a car with headers? How many of use have taken a new set of OEM lines and "tweaked" them to fit around headers. Seems like a simple offering...

Seems simple enough.....but.....

There's probably a dozen or so different kinds/brands of headers, so you'd have to have a dozen different bend patterns to accomodate them all because no two sets of headers are all going to fit exactly the same. There's just too many variables to account for.

yes but.....don't we all generally run down around the starter and follow the oil pan rail? Seems to me a single design could fit most, if not all, headers.

Generally speaking....yes.

But every different brand of header has thier own unique design and not all of them route the pipes the same and they all don't dump in the same location. It would be very difficult to make a "One Design Fits All" set of lines.

There was no tweaking on my trans cooler lines, I had to do a complete mockup, than have a local tube company make a custom set for me.

yep

mock it up. bend your own. i did stainless steel brakes and aluminum fuel lines myself. wasnt easy and ended up with some scrap but ran them the way i wanted.

I bent my own which wasn't too bad. Lot of variables to get correct bends around multiple obstructions.

if one of the header companies offered lines to work with their headers......

If there's one thing I've learned in this hobby. Its learn how to make and build your own stuff. You'll save time, money, and frustration. Plus the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Bending tubing is a basic skill that I would recomended everyone learn. Make some coat hanger templates and get to it.

Thanks all for the responses; just a discussion starter. I have indeed made my own lines, they are in and fit fine. I do like the idea from a post above. Header companies could design and sell as an option for there specific header.
