Guys, just got my 4 speed in and got in a test run today for a short. I have the eddie 2x4 intake with 2 600 cfms on her. I have the rear one coming in first and she spitts and sputters pretty bad. Once the other carb comes in, everything is goooooood. Might run both together all the time or any ideas about what to do to them and help theh way they are. Really dont want to go to a 900 cfm tunnel ram intake. Has anyone figured streetable out for my problem, or is 2 4s just unmanagable at low speeds. Any ideas would help. Car is a 426 wedge that I have taken off and realligned on the eddie intake. Hydraulic cam of 484 and 440 source stealth alum heads. Would it be betteer to just go to a single carb (but I really dont want too). Thanks

Check the basic carb settings like float level.

Meep, would I be expecting to find floats too low or too high. What about the needle size, might it play a part in low speed getaround?

Too high will cause a rich mixture and too low the opposite. Also with too low of a float level it's harder for the fuel to enter the air stream so a bog will likely occur.

I run my 2 X 4's in non-progressive mode. Both carbs come in at the same time. I don't see a disadvantage because I can't imagine anyone with a setup like this worrying about gas mileage. I bog when the engine is not good and hot but I don't think that is unusual.

No problem with progressive here,Crane HMV 278 cam,3.31 gears, original 62 300 H intake & carbs,16 mpg, excellent throttle response and no bog through the complete RPM range. You just have to get it right !!
