9v batteries work well when people tailgate me on my bike. Mainly because I can stop in a fraction of the time/distance of any automobile this side of an Ariel Atom.

Legal tip? Make sure the batteries hit the ground before they hit the tailgating car. Going from your hand to their windshield is assault; coming off the ground is "road debris".
