If your engine was standard from the factory I wouldn't think it would have one.
 
I ran into that cross on a 440 that I rebuilt for the son of the original owner of this one of a kind 72 Charger. This car had every option that could be ordered from Hollywood Dodge in Calif. Dave Koffel happened to be in my shop when I was taking it apart and noticed the maltese cross and was interested in seeing what was inside. He said that the cross could mean a number of things , not neccesarily bad ! In this case it was ALL GOOD, we found a steel forged crank and six pack rods ! He said the cross denotes something different from the production line normal.
 
Original crank from my 66 Satellite -.001 5,6,7 and 8 rod j 5 main j. Both my 66 Hemi's blocks were maltese crossed. Second one had .125 under 3/4 journal, after original owner got done with it.
