I found a car in the Pittsburgh area I was interested in, and I went online to get a quote on what it would cost to ship it. I went to one of those online quote sites, entered all the information, and got a response that I would receive a quote shortly.

That was three weeks ago, and every single day, my Inbox is getting filled with emails from dozens of shippers, and multiple employees from each shipper, who are either sending me quotes, following up on quotes, asking me if my plans had changed, thanking me for asking them for a quote, etc.

So if you're looking for a change from getting emails from Nigerian princes, ask for a quote and you can spend your days handling dozens of quote emails. :)

I always use a separate/new email for those types of quotes. This way when I'm done, I abandon it and they can spam it all they want.

I did the same thing with a car that I thought I might bid on. That was an eye opening experience. The calls and emails finally came to an end after about 6-7 weeks.

Same here,I recently asked for a quote to ship a Motorcycle from Phoenix to Omaha. That was a big mistake! I think a burner email address would really be handy.Like on mission Impossible, after you get the Info, the address goes up. POOF!

Are you still interested in the car? I might know of transportation for you this weekend. I have a guy from Florida delivering a couple cars soon.

Did the shipping quote thing when I shipped my dad's Challenger from STL to Nashville. Got a reasonable quote from what I thought a US company. They answered phone with US people but everything else not so much. It was a rag tag operation (scary). From now on I don't skimp on shipping for cars. Reliable is the way to go if I can't go get it. And prices are not bad.

I will probably buy a trailer and go get the bike myself. The two weeks the shipper wanted for delivery is unacceptable.God only knows where the bike would go in transit.

I am in Pittsburgh (McCandless) and you can use my warehouse in Springdale (10 miles N.E. of downtown) to store if it needed. I promise I will not drive it too much...

Hey Bru...The same with moving companies. For me move from Commiefornia to Reno NV I did the same thing and I still get all that same kind of nonsense. I keep unsubscribing to them as they pop up. They cannot just get a clue. Whores for the business I guess...:mad::mad::usflag::usflag::usflag:cr8crshr/Tuck

Most of those guys are brokers that pimp out your info for the whole world to see...
Telemarketers and Spam email are two of the biggest pains!

Thanks for all the offers of assistance guys! I really appreciate them. The car was a 1969 Plymouth Fury sedan that I was thinking of making into a Pennsylvania State Police cruiser, but it seems to have already been sold. :(
