Hi, I'm asking for some insight on making my 67 Coronet look very similar in stance to Dick Landy's 67 Coronet R/T. I'm thinking about contacting Espo for 2"-3" lift springs with 29"(255/70/15) tall rear tires. Thicker torsion bars(.960) all on 15x7 Cragar g/t or SS wheels, not decided yet. I also don't know what height and size to use on the front, rim wise whats a good width? I would love insight to what would work and fit in my wheel wells. Backspacing etc. Also how to make it not look Hokey. I want a tall tire not just for the look, which I think is killer, but also because I'd like to hop on the freeway at 70mph with 3.91s to go to Jegs once in a while. Sorry to load one post with so many questions, I just can't afford to guess on my own and be wrong. 255/70/15 Cooper Cobras are 28.95" tall with a 10.2" section width.

Some of the race guys should know what rear tires will fit. Those "sound right" for a 68-70 b-body, but I think your wheel wells are a littler smaller. Did Landy maybe run mini-tubs & a narrowed rear or was that not allowed in his race class? You can also raise the rear with longer rear shackles (how we did it in the 70's, but I'd skip the air shock part...haha) You don't need to change your torsion bars because your front end height is already SUPER adjustable....just don't forget the alignment.

"Purple" has it right. Maybe 205/70 on the frt.?6" wheel width on frt & 7-8" width on rear?Ive got Weld 5 spokes on my '68 as a xmas present so I don't know backspacing(assume "normal"?)

The topics I've found people are in disagreement on what can fit. I'm set on rear width, it should fit with a 4.25-4.5" backspace on a 7" wheel. I'm just not sure about the front width now. I don't really want that pizza cutter up front look.

I also wanted to run stiffer torsion bars up front because I'd like it to handle better especially since it won't have a stock stance anything should help keep it from being a turd. Also going to upgrade shocks, not sure what yet, with front and rear sway bars.

Those guys you are referring to, were running slant 6 torsion bars. But I think you will not want to use these on the street.

Yeah I want the look, mot the soggy piece of bread style handling lol. Thinking of buying just suspension 1" torsion bars and getting my MP leaf springs rearched to a 2.5-3" lift

I managed to fit a 275 -60-15 on the back of my 67 with a set of Mopar superstock springs and some homemade shackles about 8 inches long. I also rolled the fender lip on the back. I have a 7 inch wide wheel all the way around with 4 3/8" backspacing. I have 235-70-15s on the front but I would prefer something not as wide , especially if you going for that look. Also colored headlights scream race car to me but I'm to young to know if Dick Landy ever had any. Anyway good luck and nice 67.

I really dig your set up, but I want more of a rake. I'm probably going to buy ESPO XHD springs with 3" over stock with a 29" tall tire in the rear, 255/70/15. I also want to paint my highbeams amber. Basically your set up but silver.

Thanks I thought it would have more of a rake when I ordered the springs but my tires don't rub anymore which is awesome, btw what engine do you have in your 67.

The big bad 318 haha. Most non mopar guys say I have a 383 so I let them think that.

I've got the same in mine LOL, nothing wrong with that , a little tweaking and decent power can be made.... I do have a 440 on an engine stand waiting for me to find enough money to rebuild it though, someday soon hopefully.

Yeah, once I get the suspension and stance I want settled I'm going to put together a 408 Stroker. Got a 360 LA block waiting in the shed.
