I was out for drive the other night with my 69RR and had the headlights on low beam and it seemed like every other car coming at me flashed his headlights as though
I had my high beams on. My car has a current Mass State inspection sticker and they do check the head light adjustment and it was perfect !! Any one else have this issue with there's ??

Thanks Tom C.

Years ago when I had my 63 Fury, people were always flashing their brights at me. I had the adjustment checked a couple of times, never figured out why.

I love high beams.

Could that be a voltage regulator problem, allowing an overcharge to the system, making the headlights brighter than normal?

I have not had that problem, but it could be the defuser built into the bulb. I have Wagners on one side and Sylvanias on the other and while I never get flashed (though I wouldn't mind the girl in post #4 flashing me), I can see a distinct difference in the light pattern. I'd either adjust your low beams a bit lower or maybe go to a different brand sealed beam.

TOMRR - I see you 'disagreed' with my post - that's funny as it was a question - which I have seen it happen in the past, mostly with the older points style voltage regulators. I have seen the newer ones fail and overcharge a system to the point of burning up a battery.

I wasn't making a diagnosis, just pondering a possibility. Something to check into and disallow it, if not the case.
