Lower Trim Molding

This is another friend’s 68 GTX and I promise you it’s original.

ok thanks everybody its on the car he said it was only a check of a box back back then to get them

For everyone's benefit it would be interesting to see a fender tag or build sheet associated with this option. I just took a look at my build sheet and there are a few spots to where this option could have been coded.
Any of you fender tag / build sheet gurus out there know?

I had some 68-9 parts, included were a decor package set of seats. I have a set of rocker mldgs with two grooves, can’t identify them.
Are the RR mouldings smooth like a 67 Charger?

This '69 Hemi Road Runner had them from the factory. I was at the dealership the day it came off the car carrier. It sat nearly two years in the showroom before being sold. A copy of the original factory invoice showing the option has been posted here by @69Coronetrt . The Road Runner was a late production sales bank car.

According to the 1969 Options and Accessories report:

About 9.2% of the RM21 cars sold in the US came with the molding.
About 14.3% of the RM23 cars sld in the US had it.

You will find it coded on LA and St. Louis car tags as well as the broadcast sheet, window stickers, invoices, etc. from all plants.

Thanks 69. Good intel. I get the 999 paint code Chuck or is it Mike? My bad.
I Learn something new every day. However I'm not seeing that code on Chuck's half shaded Petty blue fender tag unless I missed it.

The rocker molding was an option on the 68 roadrunner it is not on the fender tag or broadcast sheet. The 68 fender tag is unique to it self, it doesn’t look like the 69 or 70
The only marking on the fender tag indicating décor package is the 0 under the F. I think my car came from the Hamtramck plant. The fender tags above do not look like a 68 tag.

Don’t put them on YOUR car if you feel that way. They came on my car from the factory and that’s why they are still on there. The lady I got the car from said they came with the décor package and I have no reason to doubt her. I grew up beside her and from day one it had them.
Are you sure you didnt add those rocker panels :poke::lol:

Exactly. Still haven't seen any proof, fender tag or build sheet, that this was a factory option. My guess is that they were available as an after market add on from somebody.
Still.... they look like @ss IMHO.

So you can doubt this car too that is a survivor that has not been restored. I know this guy also and the car came as you see it. Post some pictures of your car and maybe I can point out what looks like **** on it. And no my name is not Chuck, and if you’re trying not to be a dick head you’re going to have to try a lot harder.

I think you're missing the point Charles. No need to get butt hurt. Just trying to verify if this was a factory option or not per the OP. So far the responses say no, it was not an option on a 68/69 Road Runner.
After market add on? Probably.

My way of looking at this is, if rocker moldings were standard on 68 GTX models and Sport satellites why would this not be an option on the roadrunner. They did not have this option on the fender tags on the GTX or the Sport Satellites. Plymouth started putting it on the 69 and 70 models. The 68 tag looks nothing like the 69or 70 tags. I was 7 years old when my neighbor brought this car home from the dealership. They were on the car from day one. With out any information Bering on the fender tag not sure how to answer the original question. There is an obvious difference in the tags. The first two tags are 69 the red one the blue one off my 70 and the primed one is off my 68 they are set up completely different.
