I always thought the rarest dress-up option for BBody 1971 would have been the sunroof (M51), but now I wonder if it wasn't the luggage rack (M91)? Was the luggage rack factory installed or dealer installed like the front spoilers? I don't remember seeing any FBBO member vehicle with the luggage rack, so it got me wondering.

I think the luggage rack was dealer installed on the Mopars unlike the Corvette which was factory installed. They are basically the same piece, almost identical in size and design.

If you look at the build percentages for road runners and GTXs with the sunroof and luggage rack options, the sunroof was more rare:
Sunroof - GTX 32 / road runner 82
Luggage rack - GTX 57 / road runner 123

I have not found comparison numbers for Satellites

I do not have any proof, but I doubt the luggage racks were dealer installed. My guess is that the front spoilers were shipped in the trunk for dealer installation to avoid shipping damage. That wouldn't have been a concern with the luggage racks. Rear spoilers were factory installed (when coded on the tag).
I'm sure you could buy a luggage rack from dealer parts and that's probably where the instructions you show came from.

Does anyone on this forum have the luggage rack installed on their BBody or know of someone who does? Photos?

Believe it or not, I know of one 440+6 car (EV2 orange) coded for the luggage rack.
