Coincidentally, I just got my renewal notice in the mail today. Ours isn't DMV anymore, but Service Ontario. They issue all kinds of permits. Usually not bad, unless it's hunting season, when they are issuing licences.

Some facilities throughout the country are better than others, as Ed pointed out. In my state, they've decided that you now have to make an appointment, although no one seems to know why, and finding an opening to make an appointment is like finding a pristine '68 hemi 4 speed survivor Charger for $500. However, the appointment time just gets you in the door, then the real wait begins. My license doesn't actually expire until May, but I'm not a wait 'til the last-minute kind of guy.

Our beautiful State Of California does not put any money into the DMV here,
and we have a nice computer system from the '70's or '80's I believe.
It's top notch !!

I always do AAA, it's the fastest way to do it and never a problem for basic registration.
Otherwise, you'll get to grow old in line at the DMV, even with an appointment.

The place should be a no-brainer for ICE, bring some trucks.

They put a brand new facility in about a 1/2 hr from us and my wife went in to renew her license and was out in 10 minutes. The Mexicans from the city haven’t found this one yet!
