Both bolts that connect my heat stove to my manifold snapped flush off and I am going to attempt to remove them without taking the manifold off. Does anyone know what size these bolts are for when I replace them? Pretty sure the thread is 1/4"-20. Also has anyone gone through a similar process and would care to give some advice? :praying:

I have often found, in this type of situation, that the best plan is removal and bench top repair.

I don't know if you're going for originality, but if I remember correctly, those are threaded studs with a nut containing a molded in, or captive washer.

I concur with @SgtSuperbird the heater shield fasteners were originally 1/4-20/28 studs, stubby like an inch long. The exhaust manifold side has the 1/4-20 course threads, and the Conical KEPS nut (1/4-28) goes on the fine end. That said, when replaced, most opt for whatever they find at the hardware store, which is likely 1/4-20 both ends, 1.5 to 2 inches long.

I am going for originality, but may give it a break because I can not get them out without taking the manifold off. Manifold studs look like they could break off as well and I do not want that right now!
