Anyone heading to Vegas this year for Mopars at the Strip? My crew chief and his family are heading that way for a wedding at the end of March so we decided to throw the altered on the trailer and take it for an early season thrash. It's only a scant 1267 miles. We have a new converter in the works and a fresh set of slicks on order so it should be a good time. Be cool to see some FBBO members with their rides.

I will be there all weekend with my ride.

I should probably try to use the search function here a bit more to avoid flogging a dead horse (couldn't find the emoticon). That being said, those threads were pretty old and the race is only two months away.

On that topic, does anyone have any suggestions for cheap-ish accommodations near the strip?

Not racing, but see you there. Fun Field. Not cheap but staying at the Hampton on E Craig close to the Track.

Thanks Dennis, it looks like I'll bide my time between HoJo's and sleeping in my race car. See, another advantage to racing a wagon.

I haven't been in years, I might go to spectate...
when I did go, I always slept in my trailer, it had a nice fully equipped {mini} living quarters,
with a nice queen size bed over the hitch...

I haven't stayed in a Hotel @ the races for decades...

NCAA March Madness is a big deal (a lot of people come to Vegas to watch games at the casinos and bet) during the same time as MATS and rooms are higher then normal along the strip. Not sure about smaller places farther out from the strip. My wife, daughter and myself are staying at Treasure Island but it was $370 for two nights.

Check out Orleans.......it's on West tropicana......we stay there a lot......it's a couple miles from the main strip and priced right.......lots parking.....easy in and out to..........they host Rockabilly every spring......

My girl is a whiz at finding deals and hooked us up at the Howard Johnson for $224 for three nights with two double beds and breakfast. I have no expectations but that's a steal.

You guys should all come and find us in the pits if you're wandering around. We're usually easy to spot, even at a huge event like this.

The new matslv.com website is finally up and operational. You can get on and download registration forms for either the car show or the drag racing.
Check it out.

I am absolutely going to be racings at MATS 2015. Big month of March....I am pre-registered for the MARCH MEET at Famoso (Bakersfield, CA) Raceway March 3rd thru the 8th and then over to Vegas for MTAS. I will be flying my new sponsor's name on the front fender of my 66 Coronet....CLARK RAND RACING.

I'll be there...again.

To "theman440" I will look forward to meeting you at MATS..I will be there racing also. Look me up and I will look for you also. Your Coronet is one bad machine....similiar to mine but a heck of a lot quicker.

I'll be set up in the sway as always. I stay at the Super 8 by the air force base. About 4 min. from the track. 5 nights for 300.00. They just remodeled it last year.

Sounds like it's shaping up to be a good turn out of FBBO members. My buddies keep jumping on the band-wagon to join our entourage since flights and hotels are so cheap.

Only fly in the soup this year is that it is NOT back-to-back with Spring Fling in Van Nuys. SF is April 10-12 this year. Lots of Eastern Canadiens fly out and have made both venues. Makes for a great two week road trip too. iPadApril2014 1141.jpg
