Trying to install a mini starter from a '94 Dakota in my '67 383. The bakelite insulator on the primary connection is hitting the block and won't allow the starter to sit square on the bellhousing. Anyone ever run into this issue, and if so, how did you fix it?

Pop that cap off and remove th extension piece. Then see if the main stud hits the block. May have to grind.

Yep, another stupid on my part. Didn't know that was an extension. Fixed. Thanks!

On E-Bay you can buy a special connector that fixes that problem. I think it's about $18.00?

And make sure it sits flat to the Trans,, sometimes it hits the block where it sits in the C area of the block flange
