this radiator i have in my '69 Coronet needs a recore. tanks are good, but leaking through the fins.

part number 2998965, 26" radiator with trans cooling line ports, ive got a stick.

any reason to not scrap this radiator? recore is likely to be $850 when i can get an aluminum ACC radiator for $285 shipped to my door?

is this a rare radiator someone would pay that kind of money for?

Not rare per se, but someone out there might be willing to recore it and use the top tank for looks.

Don't scrap it, you can probably recoup most of your money to buy the aluminum radiator you want. If you are trying to keep your car stock appearing have it recored, it will be worth more if you ever sell. Another option is to keep it with the car for the next owner to decide.

its not original to the car.

The ACC radiators fit well and the shroud mounts correctly. I only had to do minor trimming on the lower tabs and it dropped right in.

well, looking at the numbers on the radiator, and trying not to have a pile of extra stuff sitting around, i went ahead and cancelled the ACC order and will be getting a local company to recore my existing radiator.

I did this with my original 26" three years ago. It cost $800, but works perfectly, and I got the fringe benefit of preserving the factory numbers.

That’s next on my hit parade. Mine is original to the car I believe. Can’t wait to hear what they’re going to bang me!

All that I am saying is, most aluminum radiators seem to need altering. I do not know which fit best. For instance, #12, ACC radiators fit well, then goes off to say only minor modifications needed to make it fit. That's all that I am saying. There just doesn't seem to be a free lunch here.
