My new to me 64 Polara

They never had a car called "candymatic", it was normally added after the Ramchargers name, the "candystick" car was a '63 light weight wagon.

I might give this one a try. It's a new design from Gary Pavlovich. It looks like the old Weiand. View attachment 1975299
Mike I would double check that info before you buy it.
I know Gary was talking recently with Edelbrock about potentially making a Poly intake if the interest was there, but this looks like the 7503 knock offs from China that the Aussie guy (Keith Clews?) is selling. Gary may have bought some from him and is on-selling them, not sure.
If it is, then it's identical to a 7503 and will have all the shortfalls with lack of torque etc. I wouldn't do it with your engine.

Yep, I am aware. The price was right. I know the casting is more complex for the dual plane but someone needs to step up to the plate. The Wind Tunnel intakes from Poly Super Pac were sold out quickly.

Well Mike, my car had 2.76 gears so yes it was till you got it up around 27-2800 rpm in first shifting at 4500.
4500 was about top rpm with the stock cam and valve springs.
With a 600 AFB, the Weiand headers and duals it ran really good.
Photo of my buddy's stroker 390 Poly with a Wind Tunnel intake. This thing fly's !

I have duals and a AVS2. No idea what rear gear. I need to figure that out. Hoping 3.23. That Wind Tunnel intake is a dandy. Too bad they aren't remaking that one. I hear the stock 4 barrel intake works well. You need an adapter I hear to run a Edelbrock carb. Now, is that to sidestep the bolt circle or the butterfly holes being too small, or both?

The adapter is required for the bolt pattern only, required for Holleys too.

You can create an open plenum on the factory 4 barrel too. It was lot of work...

Thanks for the info and photos. I thought the original carb was a WCFB and I knew they had a smaller base than a newer AFB or the like and I couldn't imagine the intake would have wide enough flanges to drill and tap new holes for studs. I night have to keep my eyes open for a factory manifold.
