A friend gave me a box full of stuff and this was in it. Pretty sure it's not Mopar but I have no idea. Anybody?

But I think your on the right track
 
Lever of some sort...a whachamacallit...I'd almost guess a kick stand; but bolts at bottom would rule that out...maybe need a guy from the greatest gen to know.
 
Googled it and it's more the correct shape for a model A but still not a perfect match

LOL! I can recommend a good upholstery shop who can re-do your key board wrist pad rolled & pleated in fine Corinthian leather from a '75 Cordoba..sorry couldn't resist the bad humor. Evident your pad has and will continue to serve you well.
 
Is it die-cast aluminum that is polished? Or is it a crappy metal cast?
 
It's definitely a windshield stanchion from a 20s-30s car but from what model...im not sure.
