I've had quite a few Mopars over the years, but never a 6 barrel variety. I have a question I hope somebody can help with. I went to look at an A12 Bee, 49k original miles, same owner since 1974 and the original was a good friend of his, butterscotch, black bucket console automatic, non vinyl top, wood grain steering wheel, tic-toc-tac, side scoops, 6-way seats, light package, ps, pb, am/fm, rear shoulder lap belts. Had one repaint in the late 70's. It would be considered a nice driver. Never been in an accident and never raced. My question is regarding the fender tag. I have never owned a Lynch road car, and noticed that there is not a lot of info on the tag. Seems to me there are some very rare options on this car, and without a build sheet how does a guy prove they are stock before taking the car apart?
The only codes on the tag are : 96 96 m6x x9 - second row 8x c16 - third row 26 a12.
If I buy the car I think I would be tempted to restore it because the bodywork done the first time wasn't the best and definitely not up to my standards. There are some very small bubbles starting on both sides of the pass rear wheel, pass drop off bottom is a mess, and the truck pan has pitting. So I would replace the pan, both drops, and probably both quarters(pass. side for sure). The rest of the car looks great. Interior is original except the headliner.
