i want to replace old fuel line with a 3/8 line, but i think the sender unit is 5/16,do not want to replace send just yet maybe in a couple of months when i do more upgrades to car,is it ok to mix 3/8 fuel line with 5/16 send line?i will buy a 3/8 fuel sender later. the current line is 5/16 with the 5/16 rubber supply lines attached in different location.thanks

You can do that, at the sending unit you will be connecting 3/8 line to 5/16 so make sure it doesn't leak. Also 3/8 sending units have a connection for a return line if you want to use one.

I put a 3/8 sending unit/ pick up tube in my tank. And I had no trouble hooking the 2 different size lines together. I still have the 5/16 supply line in the car. I think I just used 3/8 fuel line, and used a good clamp or 2 to get the 3/8 hose clamped down to the 5/16 line size.
