Are these OK? Fuel line adapters for Carter to Edelbrock fuel pump.

did you need a regulator with the 1723?
No regulator needed:) it puts out 6 PSI.

Edelbrock Performer RPM Street Fuel Pumps, 110gph, 6psi.

Edelbrock Performer RPM street fuel pumps are designed for use with all Edelbrock carburetors used in Performer or Performer RPM applications. These high performance street fuel pumps feature a high-quality, 3-stage polished finish. The unique valve design improves flow quantity and quality—and will support engines with up to 600 hp. The high-volume, 3/8 in. NPT inlet and outlets surpass the capacity of many other pumps. Performer RPM street fuel pumps produce 6 psi and do not require a regulator; and the clockable lower housing can be rotated for the best inlet and outlet alignment. They're designed for use with gasoline only.

Carter Street Super Mechanical Fuel Pumps, 120gph, 5.5-7.5psi.

Carter Street Super mechanical fuel pumps flow 120 gph from 5.5 to 7.5 psi. They contain heavy-duty diaphragms, high-speed "anti-float" springs, large "full flow" valves, and lightweight all-aluminum castings. As with all Carter fuel pumps, they contain a tough, heat-treated lever.

ahh nice.. i thought they were 7-8... i will probably end up with one.. the price is killin me. The cheap one i have in sounds like it has a rod knock and is going wocka wocka wocka... great stuff :)
Mine did too! Usually when cranking the engine over after the car has been sitting for a while you hear 1 knock per revolution coming from the fuel pump area until the car starts. It got a little quieter with the new pump but its still there a little.

I just replaced it with a new $23 carter special.. no weird noises at all, it's soo much nicer, that was soo bad it sounded like something was trying to escape the motor

It looks like you put thread sealant on the adapters.
Shouldn't be necessary or recommended.
IMO......most, if not all NPT threaded adapters ise "DRY SEAL" type threads, beside being tapered threads, the threads are square cut which do not require sealant........

I called Mancinni and talked to him about his cheaper pumps when I was looking for a Carter 6903. He said they wouldn't really be that great for my 440 with a mild cam and 2 Edelbrock carbs and that if I couldn't find a Carter then I should get the Edelbrock or the Holly. I went with the Edelbrock 1723 as I believe it is that same as the Carter 6903. Just about the same specs but just has a polished housing and bigger inlet and outlet holes. The housing looks identical to the Carter housing. They are from the same mold number 12. The Edelbrock even has the flat recessed logo area where Carter puts their name.

People have said for years now that the pumps are the same. Lots of chatter about problems with them. Place called Then and Now in MA rebuilds them with some sort or proprietary parts, or so they say anyway.

I ran an edelbrock pump 15-16 years ago and it worked great. Carter carb and later Holley with it. All I know about the topic.
