So after I found out my engine was junk I had the new quality engine builder write me a quote to build a fresh engine. My original block was done, crank was shot, only real things saveable were the rods, intake (M1), and possible re-grind of the bullet racing cam. Because this is the first true professional engine build I am getting myself into I wanted to list his estimate to gain opinions if this seems reasonable cost. Here we go: short block is $7274.00
Dissasemble engine, break down heads, mag 300.

align hone and install arp studs 140

R&R pistons fit/align rods 100
surface block/square 150

drill block for 1/2' pick up 85
grind crank and polish 150
balance assembly 300
intstall camshaft bearings freeze plugs 75
fit and file rings 75
install bearings in block 105
