With ignition on I only have 5 volts at the positive coil. New ECM, new ballast resistor, new ignition harness under hood and rebuilt carborator. There is a weak spark. Only have 5.5 volts at brown ignition run wire under dash. Car was recently professionally repainted. (special order JB9 paint-Chrysler color) Car has only 30,000 original miles. Has been kept in storage over the past 7 years. It originally started and ran rich before repainting. It was a rust free car before painting. Body was stripped down to bare metal, epoxy coated before painting. Could it be the ignition switch? Any other ideas? Car is not currently sheltered in a garage.

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal

maybe check the voltage before the ballast resister
& go trace back from there...

Post this question in the general discussion forum
or maybe in the Electrical & Ignition section in the Tech forums
you'll get far more views

this is the welcome wagon it really does not get as many views &
it's not really intended as a Q&A tech section

depends on what style of box & either 2 or 4 pin ballast
or if it has a 4 or 5 pin CEI controller

you can get the specific wiring diagrams from
http://www.mymopar.com , under tools/reference IIRC

I'd also check the connection on the bulkhead connector
on the fire wall, rust corrosion, oxidation etc.,
even on a car that looks, dry or rust free
Mopars are notorious for having issue there,
clean all bulkhead connections & add a dab of dielectric grease to each...

good luck

Welcome. What Budnicks said

Thanks for the welcome! I'll post a photo later today. What is the process for putting my post in general discussion and electrical/ignition?
Just start another "new one in each section",
would be what I'd do, to get the exposer & help you need
IF mine or any other threads here didn't help answer your question...

Electrical issues are a pain in the ***...
I'd check & clean the bulkhead connector no matter what you do,
it's cheap insurance....
I'd also check clean & put some dielectric grease
on the Amp meter connections too,
that's another notorious area with shorting/frying
causing problems in ol' Mopars, like above it's cheap insurance....

check out http://www.madelectrical.com/
in the tech sections, great guy & some really good info & supplies too...

again good luck
