Hi Everyone, I just joined up. I've been a MOPAR fan for many years but just picked up my first project car. It is a 66' Coronet that was involved in a fire. The story goes, it was under a car port that caught fire. It and a few other cars were involved. The car port roof came down on the cars underneath and all had damage to the exterior. You can see that the Coronet has substantial paint damage and both the windshield and rear glass are gone. The side glass, trin, and other pieces seem to be in decent shape. I bought this car at auction so that is the only history that I know of it... I don't even know what engine or trans it has other than its a BB and and Auto. My plans are to redo the entire car starting with the body and paint, then the interior. I will probably update the wiring and throw a few custom touches in here and there. I will start a build thread when I get the ball rolling and progress is being made. You can see that the car is mini-tubbed. It looks to be done well, with a 4 link and coils. It also has a 4pt cage that I will either cut out or modify. I need to get a back seat in there for my little hot-rodder. I plan on making a nice driver, reliable, street car that we can enjoy. I have dreams of doing the long haul on the Power Tour with this car so reliable will be key. I'll be here for a while, the forum looks like a wealth of knowledge. I'm glad I found it!

Great score, those are one of my favorites (great body lines). I totally agree about having a back seat, there's allot of fun to be had for the family. Congrats

Thanks! Care to put a link? I would like to find out as much as I can about this thing.

Well, here is a little update. My auto glass guy is in love with this car. I had him out to pull the windshield and rear window and he couldn't get enough of it. He did some digging and hooked me up with the guy that built the car!

I talked with the builder and got all of the info that I could about it. I told him that I didn't have keys but he said that he had it running after the fire. That got me motivated. So, I bought a new tumbler and tried to fire her up. All it took was a few shots of the go pedal and she came to life!

I'm very stoked about this as you can tell. The original builder had the car for about 7yrs and had the eng, trans, rear, and susp done by some reputable shops around this area. He said that if I could get it running, that I wont be disappointed. And I'm not. Its a small accomplishment but a step in the right direction to get this classic back on the streets.
