While we were at nags head last week (got home this morning) they had the annual seafood festival. It's a really nice show. They celebrate the local commercial watermen, fish houses, chefs, basically all things to do with it. They show fishing boat styles and gear also.
But the coolest craziest thing I saw was the competition mullet toss. You actually toss a whole fresh mullet as far as you can. There are two divisions one for men and one for women. It is hilarious. Throwing a whole fish as far as you can. The winning toss was about 40 feet.
Just nuts
As a side note later that day we went to Manteo for the island bluegrass fest. I see this gray hair guy walking around. I told my wife " hey that's Ricky scaggs " so we walked over to him introduced ourselves and talked for a while. He was friendly and nice like we knew him for years. Wonderful man
