New starter?

I am swapping my 318 for a 360. Do I need to upgrade the starter for the larger engine? It's on the original 904 trans and now is the time to do it if I need to.

How old is the old starter and is the compression higher on the 360? I've installed new ones before only for them to crap out early. If the old one isn't 1000 years old, I reuse it....

I agree with cranky. Good old parts are a hell of a lot better than the crap made today

If your question is, is the starter different. The answer is no. The starters fits even on big blocks.
